Participants were male and female with erectile dysfunction, age 18–45 years. Participants received one of two low-dose CIALIS tablets: 20 mg and 40 mg. They received a single dose of either 40 mg or 20 mg CIALIS once daily. Participants were asked to rate their sexual ability by the ability to have and do intercourse. Participants were given a low-dose low-dose CIALIS once daily by mouth. The participants were encouraged to eat a low-fat breakfast, drink a glass of water, chew a half-strength of CIALIS and have sex for at least 1 hour every day. After completing the study, participants had a mean age of 51.2 years. They were male (n = 6) and female (n = 6). Participants were asked to rate their ability to have sex with the same partner for the next 6 months (at least 1 month before the study entry). Participants were also given a low-dose low-dose CIALIS once daily by mouth, taken once daily, by mouth. They were not informed about the possible effects of taking CIALIS on sexual function. Participants had a mean age of 50.6 years. They were male (n = 1), female (n = 1), age 65 years (n = 6) and no relevant sexual history. Participants were instructed to abstain from sexual intercourse in the morning. The two low-dose tablets were administered in a standardized manner. Each tablet was swallowed whole and swallowed with water. Participants completed the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) at the beginning of the study, 2 months after the start of the study and then again at the end of the study. The IIEF-5 domain of the IIEF-EF questionnaire is one of the most reliable and accurate measures of sexual function in men with erectile dysfunction.
Participants were instructed to complete a short questionnaire about their sexual ability at the beginning of the study (Table 1). Participants completed the questionnaire 1 month after the start of the study (Table 2). The IIEF-5 domain was assessed using the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-EF-5), and the IIEF-5 IIEF domain was assessed using the International Index of Sexual Function (IIEF-SF). They were then asked to report their ability to have sex during the study (see Figure 1).Figure 1Mean number of participants completing the IIEF-5 domain at each time point (n = 6).
